How to get to A Coruña

Logistics guide: Alvedro airport, high-speed rail, and land connections

CONNECTIVITY IN THE NORTHWEST

A Coruña is one of the major economic and tourist engines of Galicia. The city has a complete intermodal network, featuring its own airport terminal just minutes from the center, direct connection to the high-speed rail network, and immediate access to the main highways in the country.

Plane

Alvedro airport is located just 10 km from the center, connected by the regular urban bus line 4100. As a strategic alternative for international flights, Santiago Airport (Lavacolla) is 68 km away and offers direct transfers operated by the company Travidi.

Bus

The bus station centralizes road connections with the entire peninsula, strategically located near the commercial axis.

Main Operators

  • Galicia: Monbus from the main Galician cities.
  • Long Distance: Alsa (Madrid) and Flixbus (Portugal/Bilbao).

Train

The San Cristóbal station connects the city with Madrid via Alvia high-speed trains. Additionally, it serves as the northern terminus of the Atlantic Axis, providing continuous and fast links with Santiago, Vilagarcía, Pontevedra, and Vigo.

Car

Access from Madrid and the plateau is direct and continuous via the Northwest Highway (A-6). For north-south travel along the Galician coast, the main entry route to the city is the Atlantic Highway (AP-9).
